just read the first installment in the Jack Steel novels, &quot;A Man of Honour&quot; by Iain Gale.  It looks as if the series is going to be along the line of the Richard Sharpe novels, but set in the early 18th Century and the Malborough campaigns.  In the first novel, we are also told that Steel served the Swedish Army against Russia before joining the British Army, so some hope of some novels covering that war as well.



I think the Richard Sharpe series is an exceptional, enjoyable  ...</description>
