The Spielmesse in Essen is just a few days away. Anyone going to be there. I have been there 3 times and I am always amazed by the size of the thing. I usually buy a lot of of games (basically as many as I can get into the suitcase), 30kgs more in my luggage when leaving than when entering Germany last year. No reason not to do the same this year.

Is anyone aware of any decent books on the history of Bavaria during the Wittelsbach period (1180 - 1918), or perhaps on the Electorate of Hanover (prior to them becoming Kings of England, about which tens of books have been written)?
I am thinking of writing a book on one of the above subjects, but wondered if there is already a glut out there (though I cannot find much at all).

Hi everyone,

I just introduced myself in another folder and realised I was reminiscing.

Specifically, I was rambling about a fond gaming memory when I deliberately attacked an enemy's fortress, fully knowing his allies were massing a province away. You see, we had arranged for MY allies to be two provinces away and when the baddies arrived, I became the anvil...(you can guess the rest)

Thought I'd start a new thread - what is YOUR favourite/fondest gaming moment?

Cheers

The Crusades by Zoe Oldenburg. I have to hand it to the crusaders , they could fight, occasionally without a idea of what they would afterwards, mad as hatters the lot of them.
