    shipyards Empty shipyards

Post by Hammer of God Sun Jul 03, 2011 10:19 pm

I am the proud owner of a shipyard and have ordered the construction of a ship of the line but for two turns have had the message that construction can not begin until shipyard is operational ?? What am I doing wrong ?? I do not think i have too post recruits. Please help me so I can cause havoc around the globe Laughing

These questions might sound stupid but,
    1. can you build SOL - not every nation can.
    2. was the shipyard constructed in an existing town that you control?
    3. ships can be raised without recruits if there aren't any present.
    4. I think shipyards, like army camps, are normally ready after a month.
    5. if really stuck perhaps ask 'advisors'?
    hope this helps.

As it's been two months, I'd ask 'advisors' straight off, might be a glitch in the system as it were Smile

The only other possibility is since Richard recently revised the rules on the number of military changes allowed per turn, is it a clever way of saying you are doing too many orders in a turn?

I've had a couple of my orders just not process correctly, so I'd ask advisors and flag to gm that you'd like to know why it's failing. If you're just repeating the order, it may be running into the same processing glitch (which I would guess is a bit period).

perhaps you are useing too many mc orders and not paying for them? You may not have told richard you want extra orders and you will pay extra for them. I would imagine that Richard still has a time limit on how much work he does on each position for the basic fee each turn.

How long have you had the shipyard?
    Is it in your territory?

If you have had it a while have you paid for its upkeep?

I would persoanlly drag the minister for Naval affairs in and demand to know why it is not built and threathen him with Prison (thats just the Tsars way of doing things) and also ask the GM why and what is holding up production.

it could be and I dont say it is but a spy could be deferring your build request.

Another question: If you have a ship repair yard, and you want to upgrade it to a full shipyard, do you just pay the difference in price, or do you have to pay the full price for a shipyard?
