Treaty Texts

Post by tek_604 on Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:49 am

Does anyone know where you can get the original treaty texts for treaties for the period 1640-1750? Specifically with regards England/Great Britain.

The Foreign & Commonwealth office does have an onlie repository at:

UK Treaties Online

But, it covers the period from 1892.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Kings College London's Library and Archive does hold the historic library for FCO http://www.kcl.ac.uk/library/archivespec/collections/FCO.aspx
Though a university library, because of the nature of many of its special collections, it is open to the public. Was there last week for a meeting, very impressive though didn't see this collection.

What they don't hold, the National Archives does http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
