The Royal Society - free scientific journal access for first time

I just thought this might be of interest. Some really interesting stuff in there going back to the 1600s.

Just for those who don't know, being a fellow of the royal society is still seen as one of the greatest accolades a scientist can gain - although I think the Nobel prize gets you like a million pounds

Might be of interest anyway as it wasn't previously available...

"The Royal Society has announced that its world-famous historical journal archive – which includes the first ever peer-reviewed scientific journal – has been made permanently free to access online."

Not our game era but another fascinating historic resource. this time mainly for iphone and ipads etc though. Beautiful stuff!

Ok, another interesting historical resource I just came across. Hundreds of years of newspaper archives online.

It looks like the full service needs a pretty expensive subscription but some great stuff just in the story on the BBC.
