What do you do if your country is swimming in grain? You have storage-facilities jam-packed with several years worth of consumption, your farmers keep multiplying their seed and no-one's had a bad harvest so no one is coming begging. Culturally I'm not up for turning the surplus into alcohol. Has anyone tried giving their farmers a year off to grow other more profitable things? Any other ideas?

I think you could start making more investments in cash crops.

One of the books talks about investing in pastures and cattle but warns if you do too much you risk reducing your harvest. If you have that much grain, maybe that's what you should do. I'd bet if done right it could be a nice economic boost.

You can also use grain as a subsidy for cattle investment directly as well.

One of the points about the Norfolk system was that it made meat cheaper for people. If that helps EH, then I'd imagine doing it other ways would also help.

I will have to put out an add to buy grain to see if this is in Game II. We will buy grain every time we have a chance.

This constant buying - it's just because you're hungry, not because you have thought of something very cunning & profitable to do with grain?
