End Game?

Hi guys,

Another thought and question I hope you can all answer, how long does each game last, is it as I think only for 50 years or is it longer. Also what happens upon the end of the game?

Can't really answer from experience. I've "only" been playing for five years, But since one year of game-time seems to take almost a real year to run, a 50-year game might test the average life-span a little! But I, too, would be interested to hear about any games that have actually "ended".

I know that game 4 ended early due to lack of players about 10 years ago (in 1707), and a similar fate took game 5 as well. Game 1 also stopped running some years ago, but I do not know the reason for that.
The finish line for the games are supposed to be around 1750, so game 2 & 3 are just a decade away from the end.
