Re: Supremacy 1914
Did you have to research it or was the limiting factor the cost?

Re: Supremacy 1914
it was research, build workshops, then factory, have a railway in that area and then the costs, still trying to work out how to build a battleship

Re: Supremacy 1914
Took 3 areas already just transferring thre gun to spain now and calling up a few more units, Spain seems to have quite a few troops.
Also Greenland has sent some troops to snoop off Portugal, he wrote saying he wanted to see what was happening over here.

Re: Supremacy 1914
Current world map, still leading on the leader board, although Italy is catching up. I now own 2 battleships and a railgun. However looking where to conquer next, possibly Egypt.

Re: Supremacy 1914
Ok it seems all the other players have retired, only Me (Morocco), Italy and Romania are now active, southern USA was the last player and today the newspaper asked if we wanted to retire the game and keep our present positions, I am currently 2nd, very close to Italy with Romania being a distant 3rd. Below is the latest world map. I am currently about to invade Ireland and I have just about wrapped up the areas in the Ottomans I am taking. I am waiting to see if the other 2 want to retire the map.

Re: Supremacy 1914
I've enjoyed your posts, but my experience with these games is they tend to be time consuming, and players have no incentive to stay, so you get lots of drop outs.

Inspired by @Kingmaker I thought I'd give it a go. It's not that time consuming compared to many games, about 10 mins a day if that though I am still learning. We started with 31 players and are down to six now which is still quite interesting, people seem to drop out if another player nearby starts to get relatively powerful.

Re: Supremacy 1914
Have been approached by both Italy and Romania last 2 players asking if I want to join a game with them as we worked so well in this one. Quite a complement as they are both higher skilled players than me.

Re: Supremacy 1914
Looks like Romania wants to play on as he has a late surge going on. However if we carry on I can capture more land and points still staying top.

Re: Supremacy 1914
When I joined there was 10 active players they slowly dropped out leaving 6, Russia was the first to go when he was attacked by Romania, never understood why he traveled all the way to the Med to attack Greece when there was plenty of targets on his border computer controlled players.
That left Greenland and southern USA, GL dropped after he tried to attack GB for some reason and sent all his forces on a march to attack Africa!
South USA dropped for no reason he was doing well and could have taken GL and the whole west bit but dropped.
Really need to form an alliance early on with some players so you do not tread on their toes when attacking.

Re: Supremacy 1914
Thanks Kingmaker, I started day 1 with 30 other players. I set up a passive (non aggression type) alliance early on with Russia to secure our mutual border (I have Caucasus) and allow expansion in different directions. Funnily enough at the same time as your advice came in Spain offered me an alliance so I took that up - Spain has been a lot more chatty than Russia.
