    Turn Orders Empty Turn Orders

    Post by Nexus06 Sun Jul 05, 2015 3:19 pm

    Hi everibody

I have another question concerning the game. It seems that i'm still not able to balance orders in the game. Most of them in the last two or tree turns were ignored or delayed. Few or none had any effect on the honour score. I also autorized extra turn payment but with global little effect. This made me come to a conclusion. I'm probably "producing" orders incorrectly and/or most of my orders are inefficent.
Would any of you expert players wich are not actually playing a position in game 9 be open to leave any suggestion, discuss briefly or even accept a brief tutoring position? I would rally like to impact the game correctly.
    Thanks

I don't have a position in game 9. If you're comfortable sending me order, I'd be happy to give you feedback.

I had trouble with my orders in the beginning too, until I learned to simplify.

In general it is best to keep things simple, if your subordinates have an opportunity to mess up your orders they quite often will. The more complicated the order, the greater chance of a mess and and it will probably be messier as well.

For honour it notoriously difficult, but the best chance is to keep to history. Chinese Governors should shower the emperor in gifts, pirates should be nasty and dastardly, be nice to your historic friends and less so with the ancient enemy. Try to do things that your nobility approve of, within reason. They would love to get a tax cut, sometimes it is a good idea.

Originally, I used to do a lot of roleplay with my turns. It ended up with lots of errors and misunderstandings.

Now I just give simple plain text explanation of what I'm doing. If it runs more than 3 sentences, I stop and re-think, because I'm probably going on too much.

Honour is hard to get. My working theory is that it's about 50K pounds spent on social/cultural/religious stuff per honour point with appropriate paper stuff.

That number, I believe continues to climb as you get more honour. So early on, you can open a new cathedral for 50K, do a write up on it for the paper, and viola, 1 point of honour. Of course, then you're stuck with a 10k bill for maintenance every year.

Banquets at 5K each will eventually add up, as will just Roleplaying in the paper, but honour moves up slowly. If you're in an old game in an unplayed position, you can "catch up" with the established players more easily. In a newer game, like 9, however expect every point to be a struggle.
