Ooh, I've got that "Has the postman been yet?" syndrome once again.

I'd forgotten what that was like, with being out of pbm gaming for a few years.

The nervous anticipation come turn reply time.

I don't think I'd receive such a buzz if I got my turn replies sent electronically. Though emails are probably the more reliable source (no soaking wet envelopes and contents!).

    Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

I do get the same sort of buzz with email turns; in some ways I think I get it worse as I find myself checking my email on my phone at work, sometimes I end up checking 3 or 4 times in an hour, going "it's due...so it might have just arrived" Smile

Mine appear in a meeting and then I distracted when it is my turn to speak. Priorities!

Could I please ask whether the TGOK Game 10, April 1700 turn has been sent out yet?

With me playing via the mail there's always the possibility of it going missing before it reaches me, so I thought I'd check with players who should have received it via email.

    Thank you

[please don't think me impatient. just making sure that there wasn't a problem]

Thanks for the update. Richard usually likes to get all the game turns out over. The Christmas period, then have a break himself. Hence some fast and furious turns at the minute.

    Thanks Jason.

I've only ever had a game turn go missing once (it was Assyria's End, so that tells you how long ago that happened). The main downside was it messed up the account credit and Richard not receiving a cheque from me to help cover costs.
Actually, thinking about it, there may have been a second mishap, but I can't remember what it was about. I remember the Assyria's End incident as it coincided with a Fireman's strike, and I made mention of fire buckets going missing on one of my caravans in the newspaper afterwards.

Anyway, I'll go back to chewing the doormat now elephant

I get my turns electronically, and find it is a real boon. I have the same anticipation, but archiving turns, and then being able to use text search to look for stuff in old turn is a real benefit.

Yes, it arrived yesterday ... Though I then had the disappointment of finding out my plans had gone awry, due to a technicality of conflicting orders when game mechanics were followed through to the letter. Bum!   Laughing  Laughing

    One re-write later.

Deacon: I have had email turns in the past, but, to be honest, I spend that much time on computers I've chosen to play the game, this time around, as much as I can electronics free. I haven't so far needed to search through newspapers for information, yet. So maybe in the future, when I can't find what I'm looking for, I'll come to rue my decision  Very Happy
Emailed turns must be easier than tele-fax, mind, for international players. Modern technology does have its uses, even though it sometimes makes me want to scream in frustration bom Laughing

Game 10s return date is the 23rd December.

I did mine over the last weekend and posted it back to Richard. I also emailed him to let him know, just in case it got lost or delayed in the post due to the Christmas workload of the Post Office.
