Re: So who plays what?
I play Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares quite a bit. Over 10 years old and still the best SF strategy game available.
Europa Universalis is also fun.

Re: So who plays what?
I tend to lean towards sport strategy/management games, so Football Manager and Madden NFL (in coach mode) tend to dominate my playing time - its generally the only way I get to see my favourite teams win things !

Re: So who plays what?
I am an avid player of several simulations... My favorites are "1st Manasas:You Take Command" and the second version of this game. I also like Imperial Glory quite a bit. Lastly, I have given WW2online a spin and like portions of it.

My Favorite Games
Salutations & Solicitations..........
I love to play Combat Mission (CMBB & CMAK), which is a beautifully rendered, in-depth, 3D WWII computer simulation!! It covers all the theatres of the war (except the Pacific), although there are a number of player mods for that, plus Poland 1939, France 1940 & the Russo-Finnish War.
WWII Online is another favorite of mine, I joined when it was still being beta-tested. The Britsh unit I joined spent 4 months on-line in another combat sim, learning how to clear rooms, enter a building, utilize armor.
We also practised to learn unit tactics, from squad up to & including company level! We were one of the first, original, battalions, we were a Highlander unit, 30+ members, including air and armor.
We used to just roll over the Jerries. But, as we reached the two-year mark, and the original members left, and too many "Ninja-Warriors" (who couldn't tell their butt-hole from a foxhole if they fell into one)joined, the sim lost it's magic for me! So, I quit.......Never looked back!
Then, I discovered Agema Games Heaven, and, the rest is history!!

Re: So who plays what?
Games that I play:
Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday (with CORE mod)
Morrowind (with mods)
Battlefield 1942
I hope to get a new computer soon, so can start playing more modern games. WWII online sounds interesting, I shall see if my gf's brother fancies joining with me in the future

Re: So who plays what?
I have played WWII online and find it to be very engaging. However, I lack the time to play something like that whe there is TGOK to play.

Re: So who plays what?
Computer gaming update...
Decided against WWII Online, can't play a test without a CC (and I don't want to waste money only to find out my machine gets 7fps online or something stupid along those lines)
But did find out about a new game... Mount & Blade - I *HIGHLY* recommend this game! Firstly, its published by Paradox. Secondly, its moddable. Thirdly, its a fairly small download (380Mb if I remember). Fourthly, you can download and play it as a trial (up to level 7 I think). Fifthly, it only cost me 14.99 Euros!
So for medieval lovers, get it here

Re: So who plays what?
I am a huge fan of Mount & Blade: Warband especially with some of the mods that make the battles that little bit more tactical.
I've recently started playing Crusader Kings II again after playing it a lot last year. Game of 2012 for many, many people, which was refreshing for such an old school-type game. It's ust an incredible historical role playing/strategy game from the Paradox Interactive guys. I would think anyone on this forum would enjoy giving it a bash. Just needs a bit of patience at the start while you work out the basics but it's an incredibly rewarding, unique and constantly surprising game to play with years of replay value.
We could even get an AGEMA multi-player game set up maybe...

Re: So who plays what?
I enjoy military strategy and sport sims I played wwII online for 7 years, love madden but the sports game I play the most is Pro Cycling Manager, management is not as strong as football manager but the 3D races are fantastic. waiting for another good strategy to come out. I used to play a NFL play by mail many years ago! was fun but no way as in depth as GOK.
Cheers

Re: So who plays what?
Only have a Xbox360 to play games on (use a basic laptop for the Internet and Agema, which isn't good enough for gaming). When I do play on the console its normally Skyrim.
When we used to have a desktop PC I enjoyed Emperor Rise of the Middle Kingdom. Basically its a city building game in Ancient China, dealing with all the things that you find in TGOK.

Re: So who plays what?
I don’t think RDRII is going to be coming to the PC anytime soon. At least there is no word from Rockstar. Other games on PC I’m enjoying are Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universals. I like the political and deep games. That’s why I’m thinking TGIK could be right up my street

Pillars of Eternity and Divine Divinity: Original Sin.
Tried the Boardgame of Europa Universalis in Essen in October. I enjoyed it so looking forward to the Kickstarter in about 4-6 months or so.

Re: So who plays what?
I had heard rumours it was going to be a board game. Of course that was what it originally was before it became a PC game. Wonder if it’s going to be an updated version of that original game ? Will join the Kickstarter though. I’m a bit grieved I’m missed the Crusader Kings Kickstarter. And still waiting for that to reach stores.

Re: So who plays what?
It was very similar to the PC version. You get points in three categories (military, economy etc) based on your monarch and his advisors. You use this whenever you do things.
To capture a province you first need a claim (casus belli) which can be fake, defeat the enemy, then besiege enemy forts and when you win converting the civilians to your cause unless they are yours already.

Hopelessly hooked on War Thunder here... We are the Light Brigade, but seem only to play Heavy Tanks! Lots of fun.
World of Warships when time allows, but that is very seldom.

Re: So who plays what?
I tend to prefer strategy games and must admit I have struggled to find a good online/computer game. Used to love "Age of Empires", with that chance to develop new technologies, etc
