In G7 Spain has signed or offered various trade treaties with various powers which favoured specific products/trades.

For example lower tarriff rates on Baltic Timber & Maritime products in exchange for lower rates on Spanish Wine & colonial Tobacco & Sugar. While another trade agreement had Genoa lower taxes on Milanese trade crossing its territory and linked its cannal system to Milan in exchange for low tarriff access to Spanish colonial markets.

Spain even agreed the classic trade treaty with England which lowered the rate charged on Spanish Wines, Brandy & Sherry while getting the rate on French Wines & Spirits increased sharply. In exchange for a lower rate on English Manufactured Goods and Slaves going to the American colonies.

Sadly for Spanish Wine & Sherry Exports & English Manufacturers the French then put a Jacobite Government into power in England which ripped up the agreement with Spain and favoured the drinking of French Brandy & Champagne and beat up the English Merchants/Slavers I was getting on so well with. Crying or Very sad

Not sure if adding colour and detail to trade in this way has had any in game effect but I find it fun.

PS Think of the poor Privateers.......taking a cargo of Wine, Tobacco, Timber or Slaves is so much more fun than taking a generic "General Goods"........in G10 thinking about making any Captain without a proper goods manifest walk the plank.

    Hi

in G9 i' implementing as russia separate trade conditions for Siberian Trade:

    1. Different "staple ports" for different areas, a linked with channel system. i.e. Kazan for central asia and Astrakhan with Persia, Azov with Levante trade.
    2. I've put agents in trade missions located there to investigate the market and report products and pricing
    3. I'm working on the concept of caravan to apply it to the siberian route, with magazines and so...

i think tGoK it's a bit of the hell also an economic symulation of the world and could be interesting.

One day whould try Hamburg and become hell with economics!

Have been tempted by Hamburg too, either alone as a micro-position or with the two other remaining independent Hanseatic League cities. I like the fact it also has a small military, you're not going to start any wars of expansion but at least you have a small garrison for the city and fleet to protect your merchants
