A Question of Ordinance

Post by The Real Louis on Thu Sep 04, 2008 6:06 pm

Me again - can anyone tell me (and does anyone want to tell me) what the difference is "in game" between rifles and muskets? Advantages/disadvantages?

I know this might be in one of the supplements, but I haven't bought them all yet (though I'm working on it).

Rifles will have greater accuracy and range - as I found during a description of a battle several of my rifle armed battalions were involved in.

On the flipside... They have a slower rate of fire and will foul in a pitched battle.

No ups without downs, I guess. A familiar theme, I'm finding, in this game!

Thanks. Just what I wanted to know. (Though how it helps me I'm still not sure.)

Rifles are best used for Light inf and not as standard issue, stick to muskets or flintlocks for general issue, bur rifles for elite inf....
