grain
Hi folks.
Can anybody tell me how much grain can be transported on an East Indiaman transpot ship please?
Aso, a great move in LGDR game six. The Calfornian gold strike has been discovered, and all players have been invited to submit claims, by the Spanish player. Gold for everyone- only in game six. Certainly a very interesting development.

Re: grain
If I have to move something significant, such as a large grain consignment, I use merchant tenders to get the commodity moved. It costs the crown some money but at least you dont have to worry about having the required amount of ships in your Navy.

Re: grain
That is the same method I have used. A small disbursement from the crown to the merchant vessels helps ease the economic impact. I tried to purchase some grain in game two in the turn before last and it was removed from the market before I got there. Who knows!

Re: grain
Yes perhaps a better idea, it saves the change orders as well, thanks all.

Re: grain
I agree with Revvaughan, it's the easier way to move grain around and like you say JB, saves orders.
Do like this gold plan, seems to benefit everyone so can't be a bad thing...

Re: grain
As of this coming turn, I believe that Sweden has 300,000 tons of grain up for grabs

Re: grain
I use diplomatic orders to transport grain and if no merchant marine, about £1000 is deducted to use foreign merchants.
Transferred 100 million tons to the Imperial Diet last turn, only 4 billion tons left!!
A famine in South America (1722) made me concentrate on ensuring there is always an abundant supply of grain.
