Does anyone know of any good books to read on the eighteenth century and France in particular?

Re: Books on the eighteenth century
If you look in the 1700's section (towards the bottom of the forum page) there is a thread on book recommendations.
I am not aware of any particularly good books for France, but given that King Louis XIV is one of the most famous, if not THE most famous French monarch I am sure there are plenty of books out there.
I tend to find Wikipedia on the internet (with all its faults) an excellent, and easy starting point for some research on any subject.
