PP points during the game

Do you think that orders that are not character-based (such as borrowing, articles for the Times, investing in trade) should have a PP cost?

To me, this has the potential to constrict play (I wouldn't contribute an article if there was a character that needed moving, for example). Examples of no-PP cost actions could be

I agree John. I do think that non character based actions should be allowed PP free. Article submission for example. I'm sure there are a few others and we can petition Richard for consideration on those orders we feel fall within that non character category. However, while a simple order to invest in India might fit, an action to discuss trade benefits with a specific trading company may not.

Oh I wish I had posted here a year ago! The PP for writing could be used to bolster or hide a flawed move/action. The rules I thought were clear on this. Very British that turning defeat into victory and all that. [Sir John Moore etc...].

Still playing and have a second position. My two positions are somewhat linked so it gives me amazing leverage.

Spooky - I'm likely to be following you down that road. I take it you have massive prestige in your first game position?

You are correct... The first game position brings about a nice amount of prestige. The #2 position is acting like a little step-child so to speak. However, my guess is that the #2 is about to gather quite a bit of steam.

I gained the second position about 6 turns after the start.

Ah - I see. I may acquire my 2nd following the demise of War of the Roses which has left me with the choice of not being as involved in gaming and dropping one of 4 games or continuing. Problem is that 4 games keeps me very busy as I have a second life with family friends and other interests as well. Well I've made the decision: I'll start another game then! .

That reasoning works for me! I am sure we will be meeting each other in game very soon then.
