Ok, I recognize this is going to be a nebulous question, but I hope I can get some insight anyway.
I'm the papal states in Game 3. I think it's fairly obvious that conquering the world isn't on the short list. how should I think about defense if my objective is to be a porcupine? IE hard to swallow, but without military ambitions?
I'm looking at my military and I really don't have any idea how to judge it. I don't know the game well enough yet, or the period either, to know best how to think about the military.
