Does anyone know if you pay for them when you credential them, and then again in april, or is it just in april. Being cheap, I'm trying to decide if I'm away at my hunting lodge until may

Re: ambassador costs
I thought ambassadors came free and one just had to pay maintenance on all foreign embassies in one's lands and that each april.

Re: ambassador costs
Yes, my question was, if I accept an ambassador to my court in february, do I pay $10K then in February, and again in April, or just in april.
Sending an ambassador to a court to add costs doesn't work in my understanding. the court has to accept the ambassador before the costs are incurred.

Re: ambassador costs
Just in April, and are you hunting wolves by any chance?
I think the cost is automatic unless you refuse the ambassador and his embassy.

Re: ambassador costs
Ah, you have to actively refuse an ambassador?
I take it is bad form to boot them out every march, and take them back in may

Re: ambassador costs
In the past the only embassies I havn't paid for have been those I have refused to accept or closed down, so I think the answer is yes you have to actively refuse an ambassador.
Yes. I think it would be deemed bad form by some princes.

Re: ambassador costs
A good idea. Booting them out every march, then accepting them in may. Well done Deacon, i like it. However, as it costs to open an embassy. I think the players who you keep booting out, will find it very expensive. Richard would not let us off that lightly. If there was ever such a loophole. I am sure Richard would have soon closed it. No way round it i'm afraid, we all have to pay up.

Re: ambassador costs
I think that having a high number of foreign ambassadors in your nation is seen as a sign of "popularity" or international importance....your honour should adjust upwards accordingly. Closing embassies, especially en masse I suspect would have a detrimental impact on your honour.

Re: ambassador costs
ambassadors need to be sent with a letter (my preference) asking the other player to accept or refuse them, that his choice. But a potential ally could be insulted IF you refuse his ambassador
