Trade Patrols

More questions from a slow learner... If you have a trade patrol and increase the number of liners attached to it, does that have a significant impact on trade revenues? And/or do you also need to invest extra cash alongside the extra ships?

I understand that they aid trade so that merchants don't have to pay for transport if using these liners thus increasing their profit or enabling lower prices to undercut rival traders. As such it is the state providing resources.

You can increase or decrease the number of liners at any time but it probably involves a lot of work for Richard to adjust calculations as it would affect other countries trade too. It might also affect EH.

I suppose you could think of it along the lines of an ongoing trade subsidy to the value of the shipping availability if that helps at all?

No need to invest more cash and significant increase in revenue would depend on the size of the trade in that area compared to the number of liners the patrol is increased by.

Thanks for the response. I guess the answer, as so often with GK, is to try it and see... and also as so often with GK, when something happens you're not quite sure what has contributed to it to what degree.... just like real life! Thanks again.

it will help if you increase, although....you have to ensure that you also input money and recruits into the area they are actually trading in otherwise the ships dont have much of a cargo do they
