How to Raise Morale

Morale seems to have taken on a more important dimension in the game. It seems tied in with the new Sick list Rules.

Has anyone experience of bringing units with low morale back upto a normal level of morale. Most everything I have tried so far has not worked.
So far I have tried:-

a) Improved rations.
b) Double Schnapps Ration
c) New uniforms & improved weapons
d) Generals giving rabble rousing speeches.

All the above have to date failed to improve morale.Which is frustrating. Has anyone any other ideas.

I feel the need to quote Blackadder on this one

General Melchett: That's right. And Field Marshall Haig is worried that this may be depressing the men a tadge. So, he's looking to find a way to cheer them up.
Captain Blackadder: Well, his resignation and suicide would seem the obvious suggestion.

Ever considered allowing your lads a good sack of a city or just plundering across hostile lands?

I find orders to rape, loot & pillage are always popular

Rum is good as well.

But if you are on the defensive and plundering in own territory is not on the rules suggest finding out what upset troops in the first place and trying to fix this.

Simply ask them or their officers it maybe they have not been back to their home land for ages? Being co located with a unit they do not get on with?

I try some of the above and if you have the money try paying them a bonus?
