Logged into the forum just now to have a page appear telling me to update my browser video player. This was detected as a virus by my security software. Somehow this virus has managed to attach itself to the forum. just a heads up in case anybody gets caught out by this.

Re: Forum Virus
I'm pretty sharp on these things and careful with what I click on. It occurred the moment I tried to log in (for some reason I wasn't auto-logged in). These things normally require a trigger click to start the process. Possible it could have been waiting for me to do something but my PC is generally clean (two firewalls, anti-virus and knowing what not to do on the web keeps it so). But it's best if people are aware in case they see the same and are tricked by it.

Re: Forum Virus
ok I have tried FF, Chrome, IE none give me the option to update my browser video player. so I am at a loss. I usually use FF so IE has not logged in until today.
I still think it is on you computer , but that's my opinion, sorry I cannot help much more unless more players report it....

Re: Forum Virus
I sometimes get an advertisement at the top of the forum that says "click here to update your video" something or other.
I know it's a banner ad, and not a real thing, so I ignore it.
For about a week, the ad server here was screwy and the page was hard to load, but that seems to have gone away.
So, no, don't have the problem, but think it might be a rogue banner ad.

Re: Forum Virus
I think I have encountered this once or twice but I put it down to sticky fingers and me being clumsy when scrolling down on the laptop and activating a banner ad by accident
