Gloire du Roi - Maps

I was wondering if anyone has a Gloire du Roi map which really baffles them:

My particular niggle is with the Flanders/UDP/Northern France map in particular:

1) Why is Antwerp shown in the UDP when my maps of 1700 show it to be part of the Spanish Netherlands?
This would then activate the historic problem of navigation of the Dutch controlled Scheldt.

2) Why has Denain moved from France (down the Scheldt from Valenciennes on way to Cambrai) to the north bank of the Meuse and East of Namur in the Spanish Netherlands?

3) As for Mauberge why does it seem to have moved to Sedan?

I blame the map makers in Nottingham.... 

Well, the game has been running a lot of years. I think getting good quality maps then was harder than it is now. Plus he has to do them himself if he's going to avoid copyright issues.

Did not really use to matter that much but since the military rules turned very historic and the emphasis switched from winning battles to trying to keep your side feed and in gun powder ......trying to work out locations of teleporting fortresses and which one is blocking your river/supply line is a bit of a git.

And I still say Antwerp should be in Flanders.

Actually, to be correct, Rozwi can be armed with matchlocks for £800 a TF battalion.

Best one I've had while looking at the African continent map is trying to fill in the huge swathes of blank space. Very much 'Darkest Africa', in the sense that the map makers of the time were in the dark as to what was there and where those fabled cities were. Though, apart from the colonial settlements, the indigenous locations aren't probably there any more, in southern Africa at least.

Looking at the environs around Khami in my atlas books and I spot Lake Kariba. Worked out how best to use this large waterway in-game, then looked it up on Wikipedia. Bugger. The place is a C20th reservoir. Turns out the Agema map, in this instance, blank space and all, was correct
