Yes, I am still struggling with the mechanics, but I think that is typical for a paradox game. I might go through the tutorial as Italy another time. In many ways it is simpler than other versions but I am being confused by the new production mechanics. Unlike in previous versions where you built a division you now build the components for the division - the guns, the lorries etc, So now i worry if I have the right stuff built!

If you have the time on your hands whilst recovering I would definitely say yes. It probably wont become discounted for a couple of years so you might as well get it now. I was surprised at how little space it took up, but that is probably because the graphics are quite simple. It is quite expensive, but Paradox games tend to be. Other new releases as strategy games this year are Xcom 2, which is brilliant and works so much better with recent patches, Stellaris - a space paradox game, and obviously Warhammer Total War, which to be fair is very well put together. My personal favourite at the moment is Attila Total War with the Fall of Eagles mod and associated mods added on. If you can get Attila Total War cheaper on steam or elsewhere as it is a couple of years old it would get my recommendation. Rome 2 is just about acceptable with mods at the moment but really was a fail, if you want to play that period I would suggest buy the original Rome game and add the Europa Barbarorum mod on top, or Medieval Kingdoms Total war with the new Europa Barbarorum mod on top, but that hasn't been finished yet. Both these mods have to be added directly rather than using the Steam workshop which makes mod additions so easy.
