Best Use for A Science Academy?

I have a Science Academy standing empty and wonder what folk thing would be the best use to put it to? Are 1,000 Scientists any use? What Research topic could prove the most useful/profitable? All comments valued. (And if anyone wants to infer anything from my sudden return to this Forum, please do...)

in my humble opinion you have two paths ahead you can choose.

1) If you want to improve the atmosphere of the age, a science academy in our age was mostly involved into understanding natural phenomenon, thus a Natural Science academy could be tasked to investigate into the secrets of biology and evolution, as those were arguments discussed in that era (it was the dawn of enlightenment and the pillars on which researchers like Carl von Linné worked where being placed in that time).

2) If you have more "practical" aims, a science academy could be useful I presume to speed up the study of how to correctly combinate elements to create steel for example, of the various combinations/evolution of raw materials that are cited in many handbooks. Either alone or supporting the activity of another academy (example, the infantry weapon academy is tasked to study an enhanced version of the cannon barrel, able to substain better continuous fire. Science academy is tasked to assist the study).

If your idea was the second and you were looking for insights on how to elaborate, I have found useful this combo studying steel, and also combining geological academy and science academy in similar tasks.

In addition to the above, both of which I like and may also help honour, you could research refrigeration as a long term multi stage project. Possibly using the scientists at the academy to support the research.

Belated thanks for thoughtful suggestions. Have to say that nothing struck me as very exciting... Will continue to meditate and study rules (in fact an idea is already dawning!)
