Stores or magazines?

Hi folks.
Thought i would start a new topic off, as i am thinking which is better. Is it better to have Stores, in a town. Or a magazine? Will the stores last as long as the magazine?Will twelve stores, last a year? I have not been involved in a battle as of yet, so i am not sure of the answer. Obviously stores are better with an army, as supply routes cannot be cut off. Do the stores last as long as they should? How long does the magazine last? Am i right in saying that Muskets, are not included in either stores or magazines?

magazines are unlimted BUT a store runs out as soon as it is used. For instance in one game I laid seige to a fortress went on for a year before i managed to storm and get in, if you had only 12 months of stores the population would have been starving as the army would have had all the stores and your army would have been without ammo etc....

How do you get on about ammo and muskets with stores? If you have twelve months worth of stores, does that include twelve months worth of ammo, and replacement muskets?If you simply run out of stores, you can buy more lots in, just before you run out. Does it work as easy as it sounds? How do you get replacement ammo and Muskets?

No it covers food, powder and shot but no muskets etc...

I see. So can an army take a few thousand spare muskets with it? that way all stores would be catered for. How would this work in game? would a baggage train be needed to tag onto the back of the army?

yes it would need a baggage trayne, but then that would need guarding and they move slow. Any dragoons patroling could ambush it, like I did to one in game 3 many years ago.

There is no quick way to keep in supply while on campgain, taking supplies is one way. Capturing supplies or a magazine is another.

Just realised I sent my army marching away with one months stores !!!! Got so excited with events in game 7 LOL

What is the status of events in Game VII? I just recenlty left due to involvement in SFE.
