    Has anyone else been watching this, esp the one on the Asante? Quite informative, from a Glory point of view, I thought. Gave some interesting insights into their gold production and slave trading...

    Excellent programme. I believe the next one relates to the history of the Zulus and their legendary king Shaka. Now there was a bloodthirsty chap.
    A while ago, also on BBC 4, was Frederick and the enigma of Prussia. Well worth a watch if it turns up again.

    I think I did see the programme on Frederick, was left with the feeling he was a much more complex individual than he is usually portrayed as.

    I found the Zulu one last night fascinating-the rate of growth of their empire was amazing! Next week is Morocco
