Glory of Kings Game 9 waiting list launched!

The new GAME 9 of our FLAGSHIP postal/email wargames campaign THE GLORY OF KINGS is going to begin in a few weeks.
This is our invitation for you to get involved! The game positions are listed below.

To take one on, please email us at agema@hotmail.co.uk stating the position you’d like. We’ll email back to let you know if it is still available, or to offer an alternative. That position will then be reserved for you for a week; to secure it make a payment via the ‘pay for turns’ page on the Agema website. The set-up turns won’t be sent out for several weeks, but this will ensure your place is guaranteed.

If you don’t have the rules, but want to take a look, they’re also available at www.agema.org.uk

If you want to participate but not take on a country or major pirate you can play by signing up for cheaper single-character roleplaying game SWASHBUCKLER which runs within THE GLORY OF KINGS.

Still got what I wanted, another Ottoman position.

What I found odd about the start up positions for G9 was that that their seemed to be only one Spanish position?

Surely to help capture the spirit of the age it helps to have a Spanish Bourbon & a Spanish Hapsburg?

G7 seems to have resulted resulted in a unhistoric victory for the Hapsburg cause how did it go in G8 or was there only one Spanish faction?

In G8 King Pedro of Portugal is getting control of Spain much like he did in G6, creating the Twin Kingdoms. What I wonder is what happen to the original Spanish position(s) when this occur?

What amazes me is that the Hapsburg & Bourbon players in G6 & G8 have so little feeling for dynastic rights/claims that they would allow a distant and very poor Portugese claim to even get a look in.

Even if Paris does not care much about the Bourbon claim to the throne of Spain allowing Spain & Portugal to merge into a united Kingdom creates a very strong power on your southern flank.

Even if the current Portugese/Spanish or should that be Iberian players in G6 & G8 may be cuddly and loveable if I had been running France the Lilly Banners would have been heading south loaded for Bear!

Ok, Ok I admit it......dispite being one of the most friendly and easy going players in Glory du Roi/LAK (own view) I oddly seem to have fought more wars than most. Its a mystery to me as well......I think what happens is that Richard picks on my Characters just because I was rude about some of his NPC's.

Was that the NPC you nailed to the door, or the one whose eyes you poked out? Sometimes it is ahrd to keep track.

Very roughly my Ghazi character Iskander Kruppa has at different times protected the unity and lands of the Ottoman Empire from Rumanian Rebels, Poles, Austrians, Venice, Genoa, The Papal States, Persians, Spain, France, Ireland, England, Tuscany, Cossacks, Portugal and Liege Cologne.

And yes he did blind a captured Rumanian rebel army, burn Venice to the ground and plaugh it with salt, and kill a few nuns (also a King of Poland, a Archduke of Austria, Doge of Genoa etc) but he also liberated Protestant Hungary from the Hapsburg Yoke and Greek Orthodoxy from Papist rule by Venice. While defending Sunni Orthodoxy and the rights of the Turkish Notables/Saphi from Janissary Heretic Scum.

Surely he should be viewed as a hero and fellow Orthodox Sunni NPC's should take his side against Heretic's?

But I purge one diet in Buda of papists and put down a mutiney by Agema's favourite NPC's in the Janissary Corp and suddenly I am Public Enemey No 1. Its so unfair!

I also think Jean Bart, Jahan Keli Beg and the Board of Directors of the Hon East India Company have been the victims of a Press Witch Hunt.

I contend that my characters are the good Guys! But I think Agema wants to put Black Hats on them. Harsh! Very Harsh!!
