Academies & Research Empty Academies & Research

Happy new year (in the real world) to one and all. And my first question for 2012 is: in order for Academies to carry out research do they first of all have to have trained 1,000 students? (I'd like some science research but can't think what to do with 1,000 scientists in a small country!)

No, there is no need to train students to work in any academy, you train students for various tasks in the country (veterinarians, medics, priests, lawyers etc)

All you need to do for research is to set up a Academy, which should be relevant to the research you are planning and next month order them to start working on the project. It can take anything from a month or two to several years to be successful.
My record for a successful project is 38 months but most should reach a conclusion in less than a year.
