I now have my own company of men and officers and I am off to rescue to some children from the "man in Black" before nipping off to deal with the "bad" Duke....

Lol this a tad delicate, it is reported a certainDuke has been executed without trail on the Kaisers orders!

Was a bit surprised to read in G2 journal that Kaiser had ordered the Duke to be shot. It was a bit of shock to read that von der Deckel had moved from interogation with the comfy chair & soft cushions directly to death by firing squad.

Seems to have been a misunderstanding though so I am sure that von der Deckel will sort it out

After all there is a firing squad waiting for someone. No, No pressure..........

The Duke is a murderer as I have just found out, murdered 2 boys for no real reason, lets see how the Kaiser likes this now I have evidence....

I can let you know that the Kaiser isn't happy that someone has murdered children. He has your letter, a reply is on its way, or at least that is what he told me anyway.

That would be "infamous" for not being at the siege of Strassburg!

By the end of June 1740 the Imperial Army has lost 30,000 men from the ranks at the siege (not all killed and wounded many seem to have run away from the horror) inc Kronprinz Heinrich and many of the Kaiser best officers.  Even the Kaiser is reported as looking shattered by the brutal nature of the street fighting.

Villars and Count Cabral Baden troops are reported to be suffering just as badly but still hold out in the city and in the Citadel.

So when this famous bloodletting is going on and the Kaiser needs all his officers leading the way where is our (in)famous Prussian hero and Swashbuckler?  Leading charges at the head of his picked men?  Lurking in the sewers while on a mission to kidnap the rebel elector or blow up the rebels ally Villars and the French Magazine ?

Ah no ..........he is baby sitting somewhere. 

Mind you looking at losses (which seem even worse precentage wise at Officer level) this may be the best option.  Too date the French & Imperialists have both now lost more men at one siege than Ottoman Rumelia in all the campaigns of Mustapha and Iskander Kruppa combined !!  Its carnage on a par with Lisbon.

Mind you...given my experiences of baby sitting...fighting the French seems the easier option

Mine is a VERY important job, although I have just petitioned the Kaiser for a front line command... lets see what he says?

But just think if you can sweep the badlands of the Lebanon hills and "convince" 5000 defeated ex-Jannissary types who have turned to banditry for fun and profit that they will be "Happier in Hanover" that has got to be worth 5000 @ £30 each = £150,000 of the Elector's Gold and everyone will be happier.
