    I am currently reading "Empires and Barbarians" by Peter Heather. It is over 600 pages and I am only half way through it, but would recommend it for the account of the fall of the Roman Empire. First published in 2009 so I am a bit behind the curve. Peter Heather previously published "The Fall of the Roman Empire" which is expanded in the later book. Any one interested in the period will find the book a good read.
    I have stopped reading history books on kindle because the maps and other pictures dont seem to reproduce correctly, or it might be that I just have an old kindle.

    geta fire kindle it is better I have the old and the new fire ones. Will look that book up
