Why would the Hungarians pick on the Turks who were kind enough to free them from the Hapsburg Yoke? And give them their own Diet, Kingdom etc.

A quick turnaround but perhaps a surprisingly quiet turn after last month!

Really interesting to see the quick turn around, got my academy of Botany and Richard Bradley to run it, which is a coup considering he designed my special gardens.

Re: Question regarding game 2
Is Richard trying to beat the Christmas post deadline, that was a quick turn around. Or have we all frogotten to put our orders in the post.
Mark , welcome back to the game, as Hungary again ! Hope my sister is keeping well, she is afterall my favorite sibling, she would be most upset if you invade on turn one.......
Has anyone out there in G2 got a live line to Paris, if they have please let Potsdam know, we have tried the message in a bottle method as a last resort.

Re: Question regarding game 2
Baden is playing Widow Twanky I think this year.
I can't understand why the Badenese have all very suddenly become Paranoid, is there something that the French have done to turn them all into Hysterical nut cases.
May have to give Matthew of Baden some new Butterflies for his collection that normally calms him down, I just wonder if he will see them as a dangerous weapon.

I think the real panto-season invasion of France with shouts of "he's is behind you" was the English Invasion of France a good few years back.
Basically, France & a Catholic Alliance which had the backing of Spain, Portugal, Genoa, Jacobite Ireland & L-C invaded North Africa/The Levant to put an end to the Piracy backed by the Bey of Egypt for fun & profit.
The Ottoman Sultan & the Grand Vizier who viewed the Bey as a pro Jannissary nut case were not bothered at first. But were finally forced to act by public opinion when the French declared a Bourbon protectorate of Egypt and invaded Syria while Portugese troops landed on Crete.
The Grand Vizier in a stunning display of Military ability and diplomatic inability captured Venice in a surprise attack and offered to exchange Venice for a French withdraw from the Ottoman Empire.
To say France & its allies were not impressed is an understatement! The Pope called a Crusade!! And a huge Allied Army started to gather in Milan while the French marched on Damascus to put more pressure on the Ottomans.
The GV claiming to be a poor picked on and sadly mis-understood Civil Servant routed the allies in Northern Italy and his raiding Light Cavalry left a trail of destruction across Milan, Genoa, France and into L-C.
In total disgust and hampered by sunk transport fleets & blocked harbours the French Army finally decided to return to Europe to sort out the mess.......only to find as the Masion du Roi finally landed in the South of France that the English had marched on Paris and captured the place the classic "he's behind you strike from King Rat.....Aka King George of England"
Yes George Junior Elector of Hanover's dear old Dad is the classic Panto Nasty of G2. Whats that you can pick your friends but you get the family agema gives you?

Re: Question regarding game 2
Of course, the big question is...which French port will the Prussia Yacht Club next visit?

With the French Fleet now back in Brest the key question would seem to be is the Prussian Yacht Club now up to mixing it with the big boys? Or will it run back to the Baltic? Or is the arrival of the Prussian Yacht club in the Atlantic what is known in English Navy Circles as "Bait"?
In the wider context of the HRE trying to unite the Empire into a Germanic Nation State & the French trying to stop him I suspect that this is a side show and what may impact more is the looming French Famine.
Wonder if you march hundreds of thousands of men onto other peoples territory and order them to live off the land does this help your famine problem by lowering the number of mouths which have to be feed at home?

Re: Question regarding game 2
The Prussian Yacht club members have requested a milder climate, it could well be that the South of France is the next towel laying target, that may be the only way to stop the Ottomans from stealing all the sun loungers.

Maybe we should offer the king of France free life time membership into the Royal yacht club.

Re: Question regarding game 2
I wonder if the French Revolution is about to happen 50 years early, it would fit in, France has Famine & Economic problems it seems. Prisoners dying in the Bastile, Witch hunts in the countryside.
If Corsica still belongs to France we could have a problem.

Re: Question regarding game 2
Mark can you please send a mission to teach the art of paddle boat building to the Prussian Naval academy, I think such a great naval break through could make all the difference, I wonder if I can gat a marine contingent onboard.
And you've got an Admiral, I wished for one from Father Christmas but didn't get one.
