Re: Question regarding game 2
I did get such a map with my game set up but there were a few errors on it (saying Launeburg is Hanoverian when it isn't for example, and Stade is Swedish when it is Hanoverian) and it does say Strassburg is French so there could be a need for a really accurate map
Mind you, the map did seem to be "Germany and Northern Italy = Mostly Prussian"

Re: Question regarding game 2
It's not my fault that the Italians & the majority of Germany wanted to come under the "benevolant"rule of Prussia, it just sort of happened, very sorry will promise to be more careful in the future & not let it happen again.
Strassbourg is interesting in that the French think ( maybe rightly ) that it is theres, howver Duke Matthew of Baden has his court there. So I take it he beleves it to be Baden territory which then puts it back into HRR sphere.

Re: Question regarding game 2
Actually ownership is even more confused than that.
If my memory is correct most of Northern Italy and the Archduchy of Austria was given by the Sultan to his adopted daughter as a dowry ready for her wedding to the Crown Prince of Prussia.
In theory the half Rumelian half Austrian Princess brought up by Clan Kruppa should have been a perfect bride for a strapping Prussian Horse Soldier. Instead she takes one look at him and joins a nunnery! And we are still waiting for the Wedding!!
Result the Duchy of Milan and the Archduchy of Austria are now being ruled by the Emperor on behalf of his daughter in law to be be. This is all well and good but if Maria-Theresa Kruppa catches a cold on those cold nunnery flag stones before the wedding were does her dowry lands go?
And what is wrong with the Crown Prince that even a Kruppa Woman will not touch him?!!! They are brought up to believe that the perfect man fights on horseback and throws the captured flags of his foes and sometimes the head of the foe at his beloved's feet. The Crown Prince AKA the Butcher of Linz who once killed 16,000 hostile troops in one day seems to tick the boxes............perhaps he should have worn the Hussar Uniform rather than the Dragoon one? Its the only explanation which stands up (or he has the clap?)

Re: Question regarding game 2
Hmmm, maybe she just needs to meet a man worthy of her...such as the Elector of Hanover-Brunswick...and the Electorate of Hanover-Brunswick-Austria is such a natural nation...

Last I heard she was being seen courting the Crown Prince of Bavaria. As a good Catholic girl, she wanted to stay true to her relegion.

Re: Question regarding game 2
If you really want to be confused in the territorial layout of the Game go & look at the colonies.
Portugal lost most of hers to Spain, France, Spain & England have all swapped, lost won colonies from one another, UDP has gotten virtually everyone else out of India. The Caribean is guess your ruler sort of place.
Some of the samller German states have also aquired overseas possessions. So it is all a bit confused.

Somewhat odd that when the Pope or at least his vicar in Germany attempted to have her assassinated and the rest of her clan are either Muslims, Orthodox or Protestant and her Dad "The Sultans" normal response to a Catholic Church is to burn it to the ground and pinch the lead or convert it into a Orthodox Church.
Basically this girl is trouble with a capital "T" and if George Junior heir to the throne of England ever got involved with a Balkan She Wolf I hate to think how George Senior & his Mum would react.

There is Duke Ulrich, ex-Duke of Brunswick, and a convert to the Catholic faith and still lives in Brunswick...perhaps I can persuade him to make a move on her...

Re: Question regarding game 2
I asked Richard on the ownership questions. Minden and Emden are ruled by Munster, and only Goslar has the benefit of being ruled by Hanover.

Oh Boy what has poor old Duke Ulrich of Brunswick done to Hanover ???????!!!!!
I can think of at least four major problems for poor old Ulrich if he goes courting Maria Teresia Kruppa
1) Being a Catholic he can get into a lot of trouble courting a Nun who in theory is already wed to God.
2) If the young lady did come out of the nunnery she is the intended of the Crown Prince of Prussia. Six foot two of pure Junker attitude and wicked with Sabre and Pistol.....If Ulrich tries to pinch his girl dont give much for his chances.
3) Our beloved Emperor was given the right to pick a suitable husband for M-T. Any attempts to usurp Imperial rights over fiefs etc is liable to see poor old Ulrich standing before the same Firing Squad as Mat the Mad of Baden is heading for.
4) Finally M-T and her strange religious belief may be a major disappointment to Iskander Kruppa Leyerbey of Rumelia, Sultan of the Ottomans etc but Ulrich still needs to get the fathers Ok. Imperial lawyers say the Sultan is just misunderstood and is fine if you dont upset him but my money is on Ulrich getting Impaled by an offended Albanian Warlord. Not a nice wat to go! Think a Prussian Sabre or even an Imperial Fireing Squad would be a better end.

Look here:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geschichte_Emdens#Preu.C3.9Fen.2C_Niederlande_und_Frankreich_.281744_bis_1815.29
The short version: Emden need a protector against Christine Charlotte von Württemberg (Regent of East Frisia) and Brandenburg wanted to be a major trading and ecomomic power. So the port would be helpful. So they signed a secret trade and shipping treaty with Emden on 22 April 1683. A few months later Prussian troops landed at Emden.

Re: Question regarding game 2
Thankyou Frank;
I guess in the Game it is under Munster control, however as the treaty was signed before the game began I wonder if it is still enforcable. I guess only time will tell.

Re: Question regarding game 2
revvaughan-good to see you back
Mark-will be good to have you in the game. I'm fairly new to it too and sure others can give a better summary but from what I've picked up...the Ottoman Civil War is just about wrapped up with Sultan Sulyeman the victor; the Kaiser is trying to create a more unified Germany peacefully now with mixed results, most of the remaining independent German states are broadly accepting his peace terms though a couple of states are suspicious and Baden would rather fight (with the aid of France); France seems to be at war with England, the Teutonic Federation and some others (lost track of who exactly)...the mighty Prussia navy has done a good job of laying waste to French ports this month whilst the Royal Navy and English army in the West Indies seem to be having a slight problem in beating the French; and Spain has trouble in Mexico
