Re: Question regarding game 2
The Royal Navy has openings for officers in its growing commerce raiding division. Apply in person at Whitehall or the embassy in Berlin. Apply now while prize money is still for the taking!

Re: Question regarding game 2
Well, looks like the Royal Navy is out to make trouble for France! Brest blockaded, a naval battle off Grande-Terre in the offing...

Yeah looks that way, very quiet in the Balkans and Austria, which is very good for me. Quiet turn thus far.

Re: Question regarding game 2
It does appear as if things are heating up. The RN never was in hiding... Just not eating supply with nothing to shoot at. Now we have a target rich environment.

Re: Question regarding game 2
if the RN has Brest sorted then the Prussian yacht Club can see about a refit, maybe if Hungary will send us Short John Silver then we can make sail for the south of France.

Re: Question regarding game 2
France seems to have gone quiet, anyone heard from him last turn? Apart from interogating some friendly priest the French military isn't up to much at the moment.
Did anyone notice where the 80 SoL from Breast disappered to?

Re: Question regarding game 2
I wonder, his economy is at an all time low, his people are starving. As far as I know his only remaining ally is Sweden. The HRE is at peace with itself at last.
Will France explode across Europe or implode into internal turmoil.

Re: Question regarding game 2
I'm suddenly reminded of the old Cold War scenario of the Warsaw Pact invading Western Europe after a poor harvest. Maybe France will do the same, a war for food. Of course, if they did and it wasn't an instant success, could France then implode...

Re: Question regarding game 2
France seems to have a surplus of recruits but not enough money to put them all to use. Wonder how they will get the grain from Sweden, It needs to get through the English navy if it goes by sea.
Sounds as if Russia wants to throw a big party for his coronation, Think it could be a good time for everyone to meet .

Let the Vodka flow
Does Sweden still have any holdings in the Empire? Could there be a land route through 'neutral' territory from such lands to France the grain could take?

Re: Question regarding game 2
Denmark is semi independant from Sweden witha regency in place, Sweden is trying to get there own person on the throne, Then the Regency controls Holstien which is HRE territory.Bremen is Swedish I think, however there is no land link to Sweden as Denmark is hostile. The other question is will 250,000 tonnes be enough to feed the staving masses in France or will it just keep the king in Cake till Christmas?

Re: Question regarding game 2
Bremen is actually Hannoverian...so def no landlink...
So we say to the French King who ate all the cakes?

Re: Question regarding game 2
Bremenis Hanoverarian ok.
Hamburg belongs to Lauenberg, who also has a claim on Holstien, indeed the Duke of Holstien is resident there. The Danish Regency holds Holstien. Brunswick has no claim on Lauenberg, although my map shows otherwise.
Strassbourg on the same map is marked as French owned, however the Duke of Baden has his seat of residence there so that would make it a part of the Empire.
Does France then consider Strassbourg to be his, occupied by his ally Baden or is Baden about to loose his main city to his ally.

Re: Question regarding game 2
Just a question that may be wider than G2
Are there any known underlying factors that effect having a harvest failure? Will having a low EH effect the outcome?
France has had in G2 a bad run of luck I think there have been three bad harvests in a row, is it just bad luck or is there some underlying factor?

Re: Question regarding game 2
Well i had a bad harvest in the past with an EH of 1 and with 10.
So i am not sure if the EH influence the Harvest?

Re: Question regarding game 2
I was wondering if it was all down to the Agema Die roll, maybe with a few modifiers to keep things interesting. But if as you say EH bears little influence on harvest I wonder what factors can be responsible for increasing the risks of failure, Ok enemy armies on you territories is one, a recruit deficiet could be another, Neither of these have happened in this case, so any other ideas?

That's right on Bremen and Lauenburg. My map is the same regarding the Brunswick claim...I wonder if its a historical mistake (in 1705 the Duke of Brunswick did inherit Lauenburg) or if Brunswick did previously have it but it separated again when Hanover took over Brunswick?
On Strasbourg, on my map it is listed as French and also it is clearly marked as not being part of Baden...maybe the Prince of Baden simply hates his land so much he refuses to live there

The rules do say that is you have low EH, you are more likely to have natural disasters so i guess its possible that a low EH might make a harvest failure might likely...
